Chris Phillips

Lead Pastor

Chris serves us as Lead Pastor, focusing on Teaching, Vision, and Leadership Development. Chris, his wife Libby, and their children have lived in Denver since 2017, when they moved here alongside the North American Mission Board (NAMB) to start a new church plant in Denver, CO named Journey Point Church. In our venture to become one church in two locations, Chris also serves at the City Team Pastor for Denver with the SEND Network (NAMB) and is the SEND Colorado representative. Prior to church planting and moving to Denver, Chris was a pastor on staff at Bellevue Baptist Church, in Memphis, TN.

Having not been raised in a church home, Chris has a unique path to full-time ministry. Prior to staring in full-time ministry, Chris served as a volunteer leader and deacon while working in the business sector for nearly ten years as a Medical Sales Representative. Chris holds a B.S. from the University of Tennessee and a M.A.C.M from Liberty University and is pursuing and Doctorate degree in Executive Leadership at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Chris is married to Libby, and they have three sons: Tripp, Paxton, and Rhett, and one daughter, Henley Grace.

“I feel like the purpose of my life is to use what God has gifted me with for His glory, strategically for His mission. I am extremely disciplined and motivated to constantly grow spiritually, as well as develop my skills both personally and professionally. I feel like right now is the time for our one church in two locations to make an impact for the Kingdom of God in this city and to be catalysts for multiplication in Denver, the West, and the World.”
